A fire breaks out the Sulaco. Ripley and the others are ejected from the ship in an Emergency Escape Vehicle. It crash lands on a nearby prison planet, killing Hicks and Newt.

A Facehugger that came with them attaches itself to an inmate's dog, giving birth to a new kind of Alien. At a funeral for Hicks and Newt, Dillon, a reformed con, gives a speech for Ripley's friends. Once she shaves her head to combat the local lice infestation, she tries to thank Dillon. He warns her to stay away, but she doesn't listen.

While looking for the remains of Bishop, she's nearly raped by a group of prisoners, but Dillon rescues her. She plugs in the damaged android and finds out an Alien was onboard the Sulaco since they left LV-426. After the warden is killed, the inmates realize they need to fight back.

Ripley and Dillon take charge. They try to force the Alien out in the open with fire and trap it, but the plan fails. A lot of prisoners die in the process. Ripley discovers she has a Queen inside her.

She tries to get Dillon to kill her, but he won't. Not until the Alien is dead. Using themselves as bait, the inmates force it into the lead works. Dillon sacrifices himself to keep the Alien in place while another prisoner pours the lead on it.

After Ripley turns on the sprinklers, dousing the hot Alien with water, it explodes. The company arrives to take the Queen out of her, but she knows they want to keep it. Rather than let them have it, she dives into the furnace, killing it and herself.
