This is as bad as it gets, folks. Alien Resurrection is a total failure. Sure, the Aliens look ok for the most part, but how fucking awful is the Newborn? That's the worst thing I've ever seen, and if that's not terrible enough, you don't care about a single character. Weaver does her best, but everything around her ranges from lackluster to downright pathetic. I had such high hopes for this film. What a waste.

The music is fine, and the production design is good (the long eerie corridors have a great look to them), but this sequel veers into parody territory with all the ridiculous attempts at humor. The result doesn't fit with anything else in the series. The tone is all over the place, and the entire thing comes off as laughable at best. A few jokes might be ok if they were actually funny, but they're not.

It's really a shame this had to be made. I like some of the actors, but almost all of them seem out of place. There's no real danger or weight to anything so everything becomes boring and pointless.

Avoid it at all costs.
