Weyland-Yutani
Weyland-Yutani will do anything to get a Xenomorph specimen for its Bio-Weapons Division. When they picked up the derelict ship's transmission, they deciphered it as a warning, but they still sent the Nostromo to investigate. One of the company's androids was put onboard to keep the crew in check. In the end, there was only one survivor but she knew the truth about the company. They didn't give a damn about anyone. The mission was crew expendable. That survivor, Ellen Ripley, wasn't found until 50 years later, and no one believed her story. By then, the company had set up a large colony on LV-426 and Burke, a company representative, told the colonists to go investigate some coordinates. They found the derelict ship and all but one colonist died as a result. U.S.C.M. were dispatched to the planet. Ripley went along to confront her fears, and Burke was there to protect the company's interests as well as his own (namely getting rich). The company monitored what happened but didn't care about the lives that were lost; all Weyland-Yutani wanted was their specimen. They found out Ripley had been impregnated and was recovering on a planet, Fiorina 161, where the company had set up a maximum security prison. It was no longer an advanced prison because Weyland-Yutani shut it down but prisoners remained as custodians. The greedy company immediately told the authority there, Andrews, to keep Ripley locked up and that they were coming to get her. The strain of Xenomorph spawned there was very fast and lethal, but it was destroyed before Weyland-Yutani could get their hands on it. They wanted Ripley because they knew she carried a Queen Embryo but she sacrificed herself in order to kill the Xenomorph. Only one prisoner survived this encounter. His fate is unknown. The company disappeared sometime later. Some rumors suggest it was bought out by Wal-Mart, but that's completely stupid (thanks Resurrection).
